"Nothing Under $10,000: Why Neurodivergent Professionals Deserve Bold Opportunities"

Last Friday, our community gathered at We Rock the Spectrum for an event that perfectly captured what happens when connection, courage, and neuro-inclusive support come together.
While kids played, explored, and connected in a safe, welcoming environment designed with neurodivergent needs in mind, caregivers, entrepreneurs, and professionals spent time building relationships, learning about each other's businesses, and supporting one another's growth.
An Unconventional Workshop Approach
One of my favorite parts of the event was something a little unconventional.
Instead of talking about visibility and speaking opportunities in theory, I opened up my laptop and completed a real speaker application for a $10,000 speaking opportunity in front of the group.
Together, we walked through the process. We talked about what event organizers are actually looking for. We discussed how to frame lived experience as expertise. We explored ways to make applications stronger, clearer, and more compelling. Most importantly, we created a space where people could finally move from thinking about applying to actually taking action.

The Real Challenge: Executive Functioning, Not Capability
Because for many neurodivergent entrepreneurs and professionals, the challenge isn't capability.
It's executive functioning. It's having the structure, accountability, and support to move through the overwhelm, perfectionism, self-doubt, and rejection sensitivity that often show up when visibility opportunities arise.
Throughout the workshop, participants gained practical strategies to strengthen future speaking applications while receiving real-time support to take meaningful steps forward.
"Nothing Under $10,000"
During our wrap-up, people shared many powerful insights and takeaways.
But my favorite was simple: "Nothi
ng under $10,000."
We all laughed, but there was something deeper underneath it.
So often, neurodivergent people are taught to shrink their goals, lower their expectations, and question their value.
What if we stopped doing that? What if we applied for the opportunities that feel a little too big? What if we stopped assuming we weren't qualified enough? What if we allowed ourselves to be seen?
Reclaiming Worth and Authenticity as Neurodivergent Professionals
I want my community to know their worth. I want them to make the bold moves. I want them to stop masking the very qualities that make them impactful leaders, speakers, creators, and entrepreneurs.
The world doesn't need more people trying to fit into systems that were never built for them. The world needs more people willing to work the way they're wired. And yes, make good money doing it.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their wisdom, asked questions, supported one another, and showed up authentically. These gatherings remind me that when we create spaces where people can connect, learn, and be fully themselves, incredible things happen.
I can't wait to see what applications get submitted, what stages get stepped onto, and what opportunities emerge next.
Because your voice matters. And it's time more people hear it.
